As a Freshman, you may be faced with significant uncertainty regarding how to properly and efficiently study. You may be asking yourself these questions: Should I study alone or with my friends? Should I go to a library? Can I study in my dorm room? These study hacks should give you some insight on how you can be as studious as possible.
Reserve a Study Room
This may be the best piece of advice that I can offer you. I can wholeheartedly say that reserving study rooms is a major grade saver. Without any distraction from friends or background noise, you have no choice but to focus on your work. If you do choose to reserve a study room, try to do it at least a week in advance. They are limited on campus, so you need to act quickly to get one!
Use a Planner
Yes, I went all of my freshman year without using a planner. No, I don’t recommend it. Trying to remember everything is never a good method for success. Using a planner isn’t that much of an inconvenience, anyhow. Simply writing down your assignments and test dates is an easy way to stay on track and to plan your weeks out in advance.
Study at Coffee Shops
Consistently studying at the library can get old after a while. Why not change it up a little? There plenty of warm and inviting coffee shops available on State Street. Plus, it’s an easy way to stay caffeinated during a late-night cramming session.
In the end, any form of studying is better than not studying at all. However, utilizing these hacks will lead to more efficient study sessions, thus increasing the likelihood of getting a desirable grade!
