So, by now you’ve read about the most necessary item you need to bring to college (In case you forgot, it’s tennis shoes!). Now it’s time to talk about the app you’re going to thank me 10x over for making you download… and you’ll probably thank me 20x over when it’s -30 degrees out for 12 days in a row.
Sure, walking is good for you, but sometimes, when it’s the dead of winter, and you’re T-I-R-E-D from studying all night long, and your class is a good 20 minute walk from your dorm, the last thing you want to do is trudge through the snow to class. Lucky for you, there’s an app for that.
The name of this life changing little icon is Transit. It’s a wonderful program that provides you real-time info for busses, trains, Ubers, Lyfts, and more. In Madison, it connects to any and every bus that runs through campus, tells you where each bus is at any second, allows you to plan routes, and even reminds you when you need to leave your dorm to make it to the next bus.
I will admit, the app can be a bit confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a total game changer. You’ll never want to walk to class again… I surely took the bus way more times than I’d like to admit on those mornings I was running late… Oh wait, that was practically every morning!
Available on Google Play, iOS, Android, and its own website, Transit is super easily accessible.
Let’s face it. In college, everything runs at 5x speed and you’ve got to find some way to keep up; Transit is one way to do it. Now, all you need is your bus pass & you can begin your glamorous new lifestyle of riding the public transit system. Ohh, yeah.
