Start Strong and Coast: 3 Easy Tips for Starting College Off Right

We have all been there… You are in your last year of high school and “Senioritis” has finally caught up to you. For those that don’t know, “Senioritis” is that feeling of your last year where you are just ready to graduate and move on. This can cause big problems for some students, but if planned correctly your senior year you can relax and focus on your future more as long as you build a strong foundation your first couple years here. With that being said, here are three tips to studying and learning so you can build a strong GPA foundation so you can ease off a little down the academic road.



This first one may seem like a no brainer, but don’t fall into the trap of living on your own for the first time and taking days off. You would be surprised by how many students do not go to class and complain about how hard a class is.


2.) Establish a habit/routine of studying

This can be very beneficial and is something I wish I did when I first got on campus. Establishing a study habit or routine even if it is one day a week will help you retain the information much more from class.


3.) R-E-L-A-X

College can seem super overwhelming at times, but never forget to relax and realize that it will all be okay. You are at an amazing school receiving a great education. You will succeed and do well, just believe in yourself!
