Mad for the Mallards: Madison’s baseball team is one you can’t beat (literally!)

You don’t have to go all the way to Milwaukee to catch a good baseball game. The Madison Mallards baseball team is one of Madison’s best hidden gems. Just a short 15 minutes away from the Memorial Union, this venue is easy to get to and a great way to spend a summer night after a long day at SOAR, and with tickets starting at just $8, it’s affordable too!

Transportation

If you’re lucky enough to have driven to SOAR, you can easily find driving directions online. There is no fee to park within the highlighted areas and with no rules against tailgating, you can have your first Badger game day in July!

There are also Ubers or Lyfts that can take you there for around $13. This can be a great option if you’re planning on drinking because overnight parking is not allowed.

Food

The Duck Pond is home to 11 amazing restaurants ranging in cuisine from the tradition hot dogs, burgers, and brats to a specialty nacho spot. You can find more information on their website under their food tab.

Drinks

There are seven beer and soft drink stands across the stadium making it a perfect place to be on those hot summer nights.

Even if you aren’t a baseball fan, the Duck Pond atmosphere is one you can’t beat. With good food and a great beer list, it can be fun for the whole family. They even have a “Duck Blind” ticket that gets you all-you-can-eat food and all-you-can-drink drinks within the ballpark for just $34 on weekdays and $41 on weekends.
