Alright, so you’re leaving your parents house for the first time and all of a sudden you’re expected to know how to cook for yourself, do laundry, manage schoolwork AND maintain a successful social life?! Whew… I feel like I don’t really have it all figured out, but there are a few tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way to at least make me feel like I’m an adult.
The first hack is to make your bed every morning! Trust me, it doesn’t take that long. In college, your bed is your throne. It’s such a small thing, but coming home to a fresh made bed makes a bigger difference than you would think. Going along with this, don’t forget to WASH YOUR SHEETS. I couldn’t tell you how many people I knew freshman year that wouldn’t wash their sheets until they went home for Thanksgiving break. I know, barf. But I can see how time can slip away from you. I would just make a schedule to wash your sheets every two weeks. Your skin will thank you.
Another lil hack to keep track of your money is to download an app to track your expenses every month. Not only will this ease your mind and keep you organized, it can really help with saving so you can do those fun things on the side.
The main thing is, find time to make time. It may seem like you have no time to stay organized, or to do little things that make you feel a little more sophisticated, but if you do it now, your future self will thank you!
