Here’s to Your Best Years at UW-Madison

UW-Madison has always been the perfect school in my mind–the place to earn an exceptional education, become a bigger Badger fan, and take advantage of endless opportunities. My parents and brother went here, and growing up less than an hour away meant my childhood was filled with football Saturdays at Camp Randall. Despite this familiarity, my freshman year marked the start of a whole new adventure.

Badger roots run deep in my family!

Ready for the best four years? Here’s how to make the most of them:

  1. Find your place & your people.

For me, that was the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and the Association of Women in Agriculture. I grew up showing livestock, so being surrounded by people who shared that passion helped me feel at home from day one. Find your people, whether through a major, club, or interest group. College feels a lot less overwhelming when you have a smaller community around you.

  2. Take advantage of opportunities.

Some of my best memories and friendships have come from my involvement in clubs–from meetings to conferences and trips. Don’t be afraid to join something that interests you; you never know what opportunities or friendships might come from it.

  3. Work hard, play hard.

Make time for what you love and for the people that make you happy. There’s more to college than perfect grades and hours in the library. Sometimes it’s okay to pick the club trip or a night with friends over stressing about class. You won’t remember every assignment, but you’ll never forget the memories.
Joining AWA helped me find my people and feel at home.

Enjoy every moment and make your years at UW-Madison the best yet!
