After the pomp and circumstances of high school graduation have worn off it’s time to look to the next great adventure. This is a time of exciting changes. But also uncharted territory. You want to find a group of people you connect with to support, encourage and just have a good time with. Since UW-Madison is a big campus you can get lost but don’t worry here are some tips on how to find your tribe at UW-Madison.
- Get a Job on Campus: If you’re looking to meet new people and make a little extra money so you can go out with your new friends, consider getting a campus job. There are so many different places to work whether that’s at Memorial Union, College Library, or Badger Athletics there is bound to be a place that will pique your interest and make you some extra cash.
- Find the Local Chapters of Organization You are Already Involved With: Maybe you were involved in your 4H group in high school. Or a church group. Or a rec team. Many of the organizations you were a part of in high school have national chapters in college. This is a great way to meet new people but also experience something familiar.
- Attend the Org Fair (: Not sure what clubs and organizations UW-Madison has to offer? Attend the Org Fair normally held at the Kohl’s Center. This is a great opportunity to explore what organizations are available on campus and talk to people already involved with those organizations. Who knows you might just click with someone there?
