The dorm room is the hardest to decorate because of the limited amount of space you have. I found myself wondering what the best way was to personalize the seemingly boring and generic dorm room. After living in the dorms and then my sorority house, I’ve picked up a few key items that makes such a small space feel like home
1. White String Lights
You might be thinking they are a little Christmas-y, but they are less Christmas-y than the green ones. These blend right into the white walls and they are totally brighten up your room. If you are like me, you hate the hospital type fluorescent light in the middle of the room, so these are a great alternative. The best part is that you can reuse them and buy them pretty cheap from Amazon or Target!
2. Posters & Photos
The best way to showcase who you are is by putting up pictures of your home life and posters about your interests. The best photos and posters are of course from digital cameras or vintage ones, but you can find some good posters at Society6 and can always print photos at your local drug store from your phone.
3. Throw Blanket
I always thought of the the throw is almost always the best part of any bedding/room. Not only can you wrap yourself in it on a cold day, but a great neutral throw can tie in the whole room. I found some great ones at West Elm and love them!
