During your time in college you will experience pressure to “go out,” but what most students don’t realize is that you can have just as much fun, if not more fun, right there at home.
“Hold up, you are telling me what now?”
I know what you are thinking: “you’ve got to be kidding me. He can’t be serious.”
Well… you’d better believe it. I’m as serious as the fungus in the showers. Quick side note, definitely purchase a pair of shower shoes. At this point, you might be asking yourself: “I can have more fun staying in? How?” Well, I’ve got two words for you:
“Early Bedtime”
If you couldn’t tell, that was a joke. If you didn’t find it funny, then take solace in the fact that I won’t be pursuing a career in comedy anytime soon.
Anyhow, in the most serious manner possible, I strongly encourage a game night with your fellow floor-mates. Don’t worry, I wasn’t sold on the idea the first time I heard it either, but if there is anyone that you should take advice from, it is definitely someone that you have never met before on the internet…
Jokes aside. What started out as trying a new game for the first time, “Settlers of Catan,” turned into a competitive burning passion for my entire friend group.
My friends, and I could frequently be found in the midst of a heated game of Catan. Game nights, ranging from Monopoly to Charades are a fantastic way to enjoy your present company, a great way to meet new people, and the best way to make most of your time at Madison.
