Though it is certain that at Madison the term “Night Life” usually refers to a solid amount of cheap vodka and sweat, there are many opportunities on campus to have a great time without waking up the next morning dehydrated and sick. Here is a list of activities to do that won’t result in a rough morning!
Night Photoshoot
A great way to explore the campus and maybe snap a new profile picture is by having a night time photoshoot. This a good time of day to enter new buildings without disturbing any classes. You’ll also probably find some cool new spots you never knew existed! These graffiti walls are from the top floor of Science Hall. There are signatures that date back into the 60s, and a piece of chalk so you can sign your own name!
Free Art Friday
Located in Memorial Union is the Wheelhouse Studios, a place where students can come and make art. The first Friday of the month the Wheelhouse offers “Free Art Friday” which is a chance to make art! Last year this included found supplies crafts, succulent pot painting (free succulent!), Mother’s Day gift making, and many more projects! You can view their schedule on their website: https://union.wisc.edu/events-and-activities/open-art-studio-and-classes/free/
Sober Bad Decisions
When you are in college there are no parents to stop you from making bad decisions. From experience you cannot effectively pierce someone’s ear with a safety pin and an apple, no matter how much rubbing alcohol is involved. If you choose to partake in this activity, consider hollow needles instead: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Piercing-Sterile-Needle-Gauge-Thickness-10-2-5Mm/284097898?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=10357&adid=22222222227083071812&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=196901273260&wl4=pla-315021573020&wl5=1026518&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=117097871&wl11=online&wl12=284097898&wl13=&veh=sem
