Record Playing Study Break

One of my favorite hobbies is collecting colored vinyl pressings of my favorite albums. When I have the need to get up and stretch while studying, I love to pick out one from my collection to play. Since I have to continuously get up to flip the discs, it acts almost as built-in study breaks to listen to an entire album.

When I use this as a study break, I prefer to use 2 LP albums to play top to bottom in order to maximize my study breaks. Since each side has about 4 songs, that means I can study for about 15 minutes before getting up and switching the music. My current favorite study session listens have been the peach Sweetener vinyl by Ariana Grande and my white pressing of Harry Styles by Harry Styles.

Although you might find it strange that I enjoy listening to music while studying, it actually helps me focus and allow enough stimulation that I can stay focused on the task at hand. I’m not sure if anyone else feels this way, as many people say they need complete silence to successfully study. Unfortunately for me, I have to always be doing more than one thing at once to not get distracted in my current task. This is why I enjoy getting up multiple times to walk across my room and change what side to play on my record player.
