3 Not-So-Obvious Tips That Will Make Your College Transition a Breeze

As your move-in date approaches, you may be feeling excited and anxious. Either way,  here  are 3  tips that will make your college  transition a breeze!

  1. Spend Time With Your Pets

You probably already know that you should spend time with family and friends, but don’t forget about your furry (or scaly) friends, too! Unlike family, you can’t FaceTime and talk to them. I mean, you can (I did), but going for walks or cuddling on the couch before you leave is just as important (or more) as packing your bags. And while you’re at school, ask your family to regularly send you pics of your pets- that always made my day.

  1. Double Check Your Bags

To avoid frustration later, go through your stuff a few times to make sure you have everything. One thing I do when packing is write on the box exactly what’s inside so I won’t have to unpack to know what’s in it. I also folded my boxes and kept them under my bed at school so when I move out I can save time and space.

  1. Plan Something To Do With Your Roommate

This is probably the last thing on your mind, however it can help you transition into school. For me, once I unpacked everything I didn’t know what to do because I didn’t have friends yet and my roommate was busy with sorority stuff. To avoid this, make plans with people so you can go out right away when you move in!
