The Transition

Transitioning into college can be different for everyone. For me, it was a time full of goodbyes, new beginnings, and don’t overly stress about finances.

Goodbyes are always hard. Playing your last game, graduating high school, and saying goodbye to your lifelong friends at the end of summer is always difficult. Luckily, you have your future to look forward to! Instead of focusing on these negatives, focus on how you’re going to grow and learn throughout college and find your true passions. This allowed me to come in with an open mind and make the best of my college experience!

Focus on the new! There are endless opportunities to meet people on campus and you’re sure to find friends that will last a lifetime! For me, I met my best friend on the Facebook page before we came to campus. This is a great way to ease the nerves of not knowing anyone and know that you’ll have someone to lean on when you get to campus!

Not sure how you’re going to pay for college? You’re in the same boat as many university students. Luckily, UW-Madison offers scholarships and aid that can help ease this stress! Just sign into the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub (WiSH) and get started today. Filing the FASFA is a great way to get student aid as well. There are numerous options to help cover the finances associated with college and UW-Madison is here to help you!
