Looking For S’more Outdoorsy Activities In Madison?

Madison is one of the most beautiful cities in the country. While it gives you the option of the exciting city nightlife, there are plenty of nature hot spots to be enjoyed. If this seems a little more up your alley, here are 4 fun outdoor activities for you to enjoy on a Saturday night in Madison:

1. Bonfire at Picnic Point

What better way to get to know the people in your dorm than sitting around a massive campfire telling stories, playing games and eating s’mores?  This local favorite is great for group gatherings. I recommend reserving the firepit on the point because it offers one of the best views of Madison.

2. Moonlight canoeing on Lake Wingra

Enjoy a beautiful view of the stars from the middle of Lake Wingra. During the summer months, Wingra Boats has special event nights like the Moonlight Paddle. They have live music that can be heard across the lake and, if you’re lucky, they might even set off some fireworks to make your night extra special.

3. Night hike at the Arboretum

The UW Arboretum is a large nature conservancy with hiking trails and beautiful wildlife. There’s nothing quite like the outdoors at night and there’s no better place to get it than the Arboretum.

4. Have a late picnic at Olin Park

Hang out on the beach with a beautiful view of the city lights in the distance. Pack a picnic so you can have a late-night snack, and if you get bored, take a dip in the lake!
